Palestine Action Ban Overturned in UK Court

The proscription of the activist organization Palestine Action as a “terrorist organization” has been ruled unlawful by the High Court in the UK.

After Pal Action was slapped with the terrorist label, a motion spearheaded by former Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, after an alleged break-in by five Pal Action activists into an airbase and spray painting two planes with red paint, the public outrage over repression of free speech and the movement for a Palestine and subsequent arrests began. At protests, people of all ages held signs simply stating “I support Palestine Action” or “We are all Palestine Action”; it’s reported that more than 2,700 arrests were carried out by the Metropolitan Police, which included officers having to carry older protests in wheelchairs away. Some officers shared anonymous statements regarding the shame they felt carrying out those arrests, even questioning why they remain in the profession.

While this landmark ruling is worth celebration and marks a win for resistance against state repression, the ban remains in place until the government decides whether they will appeal the decision or not. Cooper’s successor, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, took to X to declare that she will indeed take the high court’s ruling of the unlawfulness of Palestine Action’s proscription to the court of appeal; Huda Ammori, Palestine Action’s cofounder, calls for the immediate lifting of the ban.

If/when the ban gets lifted, those who were arrested and repressed for showing their support for Palestine Action could look into suing the Metropolitan police and Home Office, which would mean thousands of legal claims.

Israel Prepares Execution Procedures for Palestinian Prisoners

An Israeli source revealed last week that Israel is on track to implement the mass execution of Palestinians held hostage in Israeli custody. A bill authorizing the death penalty against Palestinian prisoners just passed its first reading in the Knesset, and officials are already in preparations to establish a special execution compound.

The law specifically targets “elite” prisoners who allegedly participated in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood but will soon extend to West Bank detainees. It broadly applies the death penalty to anyone convicted of attacks interpreted vaguely as “motivated by hostility toward Israelis,” thus letting Israeli killer pigs get off scot free. 12 UN experts have called on Israel to withdraw this legislation, while Hamas railed against the new measure as “an extension of a racist and criminal policy and an attempt to legalize organized mass killing.”

The dedicated execution compound would be staffed by trained volunteer-only teams, who would conduct the executions by hanging. Israelis can sign up to hang Palestinians with two other guards pressing the activation mechanism at the same time, as to assuage their own conscience from the psychological trauma of killing people en masse.

Israeli society at large seems desperate to hold onto its morality while committing unspeakably heinous crimes against humanity. A recent Al Jazeera investigation found that Israel has been using US-manufactured chemical weapons that not only kill, but obliterate human bodies into ash within seconds. These aerosol bombs, which generate fireballs of over 3,500 degrees C, have pulverized an estimated 3,000 Palestinians, leaving nothing but blood spray and bits of flesh at the crime scene. Israel can then claim no trace of the dead Palestinians and clear their conscience, while Palestinians are left to grieve over family members who have no bodies to bury.

Leqaa Kordia, Palestinian Columbia Protestor in ICE Detention, Suffers Seizure and Medical Mistreatment

Leqaa Kordia, a 33-year-old Palestinian woman who was arrested without charge at a pro-Palestine protest at Columbia University in 2024, has been held in an ICE detention center in Texas since March 2025. After being detained for visa issues in 2025, and taken to Prairieland Detention Center, one of Texas’ many modern-day concentration camps, judges have ruled twice that she is not a threat to the United States and should be released on a $20,000 bond. However, as part of the government’s broader campaign to prosecute immigrants and people on student visas for standing up for Palestine, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has consistently smeared her by claiming that a thousand dollars in remittances she sent to family in Gaza surviving a genocide was actually money being laundered for terrorist groups.

This week, she suffered a seizure and was transferred to a nearby hospital. Despite DHS claiming that she was being treated well in the detention center, she reported living in filthy conditions with inadequate and unsafe food. Upon her transfer to the hospital, she had been forbidden from calling her family or seeing her lawyer. Nobody was originally told which hospital she was taken to despite repeated attempts from her family and legal team. She was also physically restrained to the hospital cot 24 hours a day, and guarded by an armed ICE agent.

Kordia was told that her seizures were brought on by stress and poor sleep. A doctor told her that, to avoid future seizures and severe illness, she should try and reduce her stress. Shortly after this diagnosis, she was transferred back to the ICE detention facility, where she continues to be denied halal food, mistreated by guards, and forbidden from talking to her loved ones and legal team. In these conditions, the recommendation to “reduce stress” is obviously laughable – not to mention evil, akin to telling a Holocaust survivor that they should have eaten better, stayed safe, and kept their stress levels low.

Zohran Mamdani, NYC mayor, called for Kordia’s release, citing her seizure and poor health. “Leqaa Kordia has spent nearly a year in an ICE prison for exercising her First Amendment rights in NYC & speaking out against the ongoing genocide in Palestine,” he said in a Tweet. What Mayor Mamdani plans to do about this “cruel and unnecessary” kidnapping remains to be seen, though his track record of making bombastic statements about arresting Netanyahu and killer cops and then failing to follow through in any way does not inspire confidence.
