Israel’s Attach on Iran

Every day, every week, every month of the US-Israel war in the Middle East brings new levels of unthinking and unhinged depravity. The hundreds of thousands of Gazans who have been slaughtered and maimed, orphaned and widowed; the Lebanese children slaughtered by exploding Israeli shells; the hundreds displaced in the West Bank; the land stolen in Syria; the infrastructure destroyed in Yemen. Last night’s attack against Iran is both a continuation of 19 months of genocidal aggression and a dangerous escalation that threatens to engulf the whole region.

Details are still emerging about yesterday’s attack and the exact degree of US participation. It may have been, in part, an effort by Israel’s government to influence or sabotage ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran. Whatever facts eventually emerge, the US has already given its full-throated support, both in decades of uninterrupted transfers of weapons and funds, and in the statements of affirmation from Trump and the sniveling gusano Marco Rubio. Whatever tactical or personality differences are emerging between Trump and Netanyahu, the US imperialists and their reactionary subaltern, Israel, are fully committed to the long-term project of US hegemony in the region: to dominate and oppress any peoples or nations that stand in the way of that project, to plunder their resources, and to maintain control over key trade routes.

Armed with the finest in US-made weapons, the IOF makes no distinction between civilian infrastructure and military targets, between children, the elderly, civilians, and combatants. The 77 years of ongoing Nakba and the modern-day Holocaust in Gaza expose the actual reality of Israel: a terrorist rogue state and the regional attack dog for US imperialism. That dog may now be becoming rabid and attempting to provoke a larger war. Israeli belligerence and US complicity pose a deep challenge to the people of the US: stand with the people of the world against any and all US-Israel war moves!
