It’s washed-up actor Dean Cain!

Former Superman actor Dean Cain has decided to try to crawl out of irrelevance by becoming a mascot for the ICE Gestapo. This is part of a larger trend by reactionaries like Trump and Netanyahu using celebrities and influencers like quack Doctor Phil and the thankfully deceased racist Hulk Hogan to sanitize the image of their barbaric violence. If you could sum up their messaging in a sentence, it would be “It’s your American Patriotic duty to terrorize migrants”.

Let’s be honest, this isn’t a new or even exclusively a republican or MAGA tendency. Near the end of 2024, after the genocide in Gaza had been raging for almost a year straight, the Killer Kamala Harris campaign vied for a wide variety of celebrity endorsements, including Beyonce, T-Pain, and Taylor Swift. A common theme many of these celebs tried to convey was this kind of “woke patriotism” that tries to sell this idea that racism and xenophobia are somehow “un-American”.

Anyone who knows anything about American history knows that racism is VERY American. From the genocide of  American Indians, to slavery, to anti-immigrant violence, from Iraq to the Gaza Genocide, wherever the American flag goes, death follows. If Superman is an allegory for American patriotism, then Dean Cain as an ICE agent is the most honest portrayal ever made. It is precisely because of this history that we must go to the masses and demonstrate that in order to stand with Palestine, the migrants, and the people of the world, you must betray the US empire!
