Behind Enemy Lines is an anti-imperialist organization based on two principles:

• We stand with the people of the world against US imperialism

• We bring anti-imperialist resistance to the masses of people

To join BEL as an Organizer in one of our existing chapters or to launch a new chapter, it is not only necessary to agree with those two principles and our mission statement, but it is also required to be committed to carrying out our political work. This includes regularly going to the masses, writing, fundraising, attending or hosting chapter meetings, paying dues, and supporting our political campaigns. Joining or forming a BEL Chapter requires a level of ongoing dedication beyond what is asked of our National Membership.

Prospective members and chapters are required to both attend/host in-person events (with an emphasis on going to the masses) and complete a set of required readings in collaboration with a current Chapter Organizer prior to joining.
