Protest at the NATO summit, November 22, 2024

On November 22, at an anti-NATO protest in Montreal, brave protestors militantly confronted the Montreal police, taking militant action, and pushing their protest as far as they could, utilizing paint bombs and smoke bombs, unafraid of direct confrontation.

They were met with brutal repression, resulting in protestors being sent to the hospital with broken bones and injuries from the violent Canadian police, who wielded their police clubs, tear gas, and chemical irritants.

Behind Enemy Lines salutes the resisters in Montreal and the fitting welcome they gave the NATO criminals, as should all who stand with Palestine and the people of the world.

In this time where free expression and dissent are increasingly under attack–from employees being fired for wearing Palestine pins, to SWAT team home raids– the courageous resistance on the streets of Montreal demonstrates the way forward. Now, more than ever, it’s of the utmost importance to stand with the bold ones, and take up the fight alongside them, to resist the criminalization, repression and surveillance of protest, and take it directly to the rulers.

But we need not allow ourselves to fall victim to their dirty tactics, not without a fight. For when we are isolated, we are targeted; when we organize the masses, we stand a fighting chance.

Whether you are on the front lines or loudly expressing your solidarity with the Palestinian liberation movement, including those whose tactics don’t always parallel yours, the time is now to dedicate yourself  to the struggle beyond business as usual!

Defend Palestine! Defend Resistance!
