National Guard: Refuse Unjust and Immoral orders!

Donald Trump, the racist, chauvinist head of this decrepit empire, is threatening to send the National Guard to Chicago on the heels of deployments to Los Angeles and Washington, DC. In classic Trump fashion, those deployments have been a hybrid of the theatrically absurd and viciously cruel. The Guard has mostly stood around federal buildings and tourist attractions doing nothing at all, occasionally joining in the brutalization of righteous anti-ICE protesters. Sometimes working alongside the ICE-Gestapo in kidnapping immigrants, or assisting the federal law enforcement and DC police in harassing people in that city for petty offenses. Trump claims that crime in Chicago is out of control (something he only seems concerned about in cities with Black, democratic mayors), while his opponents in the mayors’ and governors’ offices note that crime in Chicago, like in Washington, DC, is actually on the decline since COVID.

Regardless of what the official statistics say, violence is a real problem in Chicago. “Abolitionists” who argue against that are only deluding themselves or straight-up lying (on their way to cushy jobs in the Johnson administration). The bigger problem is that the Chicago Pig Department has little-to-no ability or interest in solving or preventing crimes, but are experts in committing violent crimes, especially murder: ask the family of Timothy Glaze, Nathaniel Fejerang, or Krystal Rivera. The deployment of the National Guard won’t do a single thing to reduce crime or violence, because the US military does not address the root causes or the results of violence, but is a perpetrator of violence around the world.

The US military is hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi’s, bombed, drone struck, assassinated, tortured, and poisoned by white phosphorus. The US military is Hiroshima and Vietnam. The US military is drug-dealing special forces. The US military is the regime of assassination and the imperial police force, patrolling the whole world with impunity and no legal oversight. All to ensure the continued dominance of US imperialism over the whole globe. Unlike the liberal wolves in sheep’s clothing, we don’t say that we don’t want the military on the streets of the US because they belong over there. We don’t want the US military in Chicago because we don’t want the US military anywhere.

In the face of these threats, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have both opposed the potential Guard deployment, even putting aside their well-known animosity to appear together in public. While we believe in uniting all who can be united, we have no patience or time for their crocodile tears. Pritzker is a political and financial supporter of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. That alone disqualifies him from any moral or political opposition to Donald Trump, when they agree on the single most heinous atrocity in the world today. Brandon Johnson employs the protester-brutalizing, killer-cop supporting CPD superintendent Larry Snelling. For Johnson and Snelling, their opposition to the National Guard comes off like two people who want a monopoly on repressing protesters and murdering Chicagoans for themselves. Of course, neither Johnson nor Pritzker had a problem with deploying Federal agents to Chicago during the DNC, when residents of the West Side and anti-Genocide protesters were subject to Federalized surveillance and policing, while Johnson and Pritzker were partying with T-Pain and Genocide Joe.

To the members of the Illinois National Guard:

a deployment to Chicago would be an unjust and immoral order. Whatever reasons you had when you signed up, did you have this in mind? To do Donald Trump’s dirty work? To defend the ICE Gestapo as they terrorize and kidnap your neighbors? Can you go home to your parents and tell them with pride that you beat a protester or destroyed a homeless encampment? You have an obligation to refuse these orders if they come down, and stand with the people and not the pigs!
