Every day since the October 7th jailbreak, the US-Israel war machine has been unleashing a living hell on the people of Gaza. They have waged war on Gaza’s beleaguered medical system: denying the entry of life-saving medicine, dropping bombs on hospitals, executing patients, and kidnapping doctors. They are running one of the most heinous concentration camps the world has ever seen in Sde Teiman, where they openly torture and sexually assault Palestinian men. Whole families have been incinerated while they slept. Thousands of children have suffered the same fate as 5-year-old Hind Rajab. Thousands of adults have suffered the same fate as Refaat Alareer.

Now, having broken the ceasefire in a heinous orgy of genocidal violence, Israel, with the full backing of the United States, is openly preparing to end the assault on Gaza by carrying out a modern-day holocaust. Israeli politicians are publicly discussing their plans to permanently occupy Gaza and finish the ethnic cleansing project through a combination of mass slaughter and forced expulsion. Donald Trump has gotten in on the act by floating the idea of expelling Gazans to Libya (a country whose infrastructure was decimated by a Barack Obama-championed NATO intervention).

Israel has imposed a blockade of all food, water, and medical supplies into Gaza since March 2nd, creating the new possibility of famine. Last week, armed to the theeth with US made bombs, the IOF launched a fresh wave of bombing and a ground incursion into Gaza. In Khan Younis, US-made bunker buster bombs were dropped on the European Hospital, killing at least 28 people. On the same day, Israeli bombs fell on the burn unit of the Nassar Hospital. In total, last week alone, IOF bombings closed three hospitals, in addition to striking mosques, schools, tent encampments, and evacuation centers.

From the beginning, this genocide has been co-sponsored by the United States. US imperialism has been a spigot of arms and money to the IOF. Recent reporting makes it clear that, despite the lies of people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Biden Administration never pressured the Israeli government to pursue a ceasefire. Despite Trump pursuing renewed alliances with other reactionaries in the region, he has also given his full administration’s support to the ongoing genocide.

People who live in the United States bear a direct responsibility for the world-historic crimes being committed by Israel. Despite some valiant efforts to reinvigorate it, the protest movement is actively receding. The same old protests clearly have not and will not cut it in the face of these new atrocities. Tacking Palestine onto American-flag-waving anti-Trump protests won’t suffice. This week, Tzippy Scott, a member of the Israeli Knesset, said, “Tonight, we killed nearly 100 people from Gaza, and no one cares. Because everyone has become used to the fact that 100 Palestinians can be killed in a single night during war and the world doesn’t care.” This statement is disgusting; this statement is increasingly becoming true.

The question is: what are you going to do about it?
