For nearly two years, we’ve watched the murders play out on our screens—bombings, shootings, massacres. We’ve seen fathers carry the broken bodies of their children into hospitals begging for help, we’ve seen entire family bloodlines be eliminated, and we’ve seen every single hospital under attack. And now, another horror: mass starvation. Deliberate. Systematic. Inescapable. This is not a natural disaster. This is policy. Israel has starved Gaza before and they are doing it again, in full force, and the death toll is climbing. Gaza is being starved to death in full view of the world.

What are people in the belly of the beast going to do about it?

The Aid Drop Death Trap:

From March to mid-May, Israel completely blocked humanitarian aid into Gaza. Since then, it has allowed only a trickle– forcing Palestinians to ration food, water, baby formula, and medicine. And now, it’s turned aid drops into death traps. According to the UN, over 1000 people have been shot while collecting supplies from IOF-controlled, American-funded Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) distribution sites. One doctor said that depending on the day, they see different patterns of injuries, suggesting that Palestinians are being used for “target practice.” However, the death toll climbs not just from bullets and bombs, but now also from hunger. From newborns to elders older than the state of Israel itself, no one is spared.

They’re not hungry, they’re starving:

There is no global food shortage. There is no lack of aid. Trucks sit waiting in Egypt. Another Freedom Flotilla carrying aid was just turned away. The world is ready to feed Gaza, but the US-Israel war machine is preventing it. This is not a question of logistics, it’s an act of genocide. Netanyahu denies a “starvation policy.” But we know the truth—from journalists, from eyewitnesses, from emaciated corpses and from medical reports of widespread malnutrition. Trump’s comment made yesterday, “Those children look hungry”, is infuriating. Those children are not merely hungry. They are starving to death. Six-week-old Yousef was one of them, starved earlier this month. He is not alone. Hundreds have died from hunger. Millions more are on the brink.

Lies and Empty Promises:

Trump’s empty concern over “hunger” comes on the heels of yet another round of failed ceasefire talks. On Thursday, both the U.S. and Israel walked away from negotiations—just hours after Hamas submitted a proposal. Trump’s response? “Hamas didn’t really want to make a deal. I think they want to die. And it’s very, very bad… You’re going to have to finish the job.” That’s not diplomacy. That’s extermination. Trump, just as his predecessor Genocide Joe, has allowed Netanyahu to act with complete impunity, whether it be the bombings, the shootings, or the starvation. The US-Israel war machine has no intention of stopping. They are committed to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza—and all of Palestine. Anything Trump says otherwise is a complete and utter lie.

Mass starvation is not collateral damage. It is a tactic of genocide, deliberately executed by the US-Israel war machine. Every day the US empire continues unchecked, in lockstep with Israel, every day people in this country go about business as usual is another day where children are starved, and another day where families gathering food serve as target practice. We’ve had nearly two years of protest, of boycotts, of voting and to what end? We need to build a mass movement that is ready to put up a fight against the empire. No, it won’t help your career. No, you won’t go viral. No, your uncle in rural Kansas won’t be proud of you. And no, it won’t make you popular with Leftists, but you will choose to stand with the people of the world, and there is no better way to live than that. Join us.
