Who should really be remembered on Memorial Day? While people around the US are celebrating with cook outs, trips to the beach, and perhaps remembering US soldiers killed in “action” – we know that this holiday marks the occasion to remember those who died in the fight to expand and maintain US imperialism.
The people we should remember, are those are have suffered and died under the gun from the US war machine. US imperialism has touched all corners of the globe, from taking the lives of over a million people in the Philippines, to thousands throughout Central America and the Caribbean, and millions of lives in the Middle East. The empire is the enemy – join us in choosing to stand with the people of the world.
