During Operation “Midway Blitz” in Chicago, chief CBP ghoul Gregory “Göring” Bovino oversaw ICE/CBP thugs running rampant across the city and suburbs.

The ICE PR team—identified by their neon vests and DHS PAO patch (DHS Public Affairs Office)—worked with Kristi Noem, Greg Bovino, and far-right social media bozo Benny Johnson to stage and photograph arrests for their agendas.

On October 3, 2025, Jackie was one of a dozen protestors arrested in an ICE ambush led by Bovino. The protestors were held for nearly 6 hours inside the Broadview black site, where they were invasively filmed, and denied access to a lawyer, despite asking for them by name. Jackie was released without charges or paperwork, only weeks later to receive a court summons and a federal misdemeanor charge.

Out of the 32 people arrested during “Midway Blitz,” Jackie is the 17th to have their charges dismissed. 

With each passing case dismissal, the agenda behind ICE actions becomes clearer: stoke fear and lessen the number of obstacles (those who stand up against ICE terror)—through arrests, deportations, forced disappearances, and straight-up murder.

Victims of the violent repression ICE and their collaborators—ISP, CPD, CBP, etc—have been left with scars; their mental health takes a hit; legal proceedings and court hearings took hours of their time; the weight of the charges being lifted off their shoulders, after months of anxiety and stress, feels surreal.

Unfortunately, those who are kidnapped and held in detention centers, who are deported, whose lives were taken by a trigger-happy, fascist state agent, don’t get the opportunity to have their innocence proven.

As this increasingly violent ICE repression spreads across the US, we cannot stand idly by. We also cannot fight for a return to “normalcy” and for ICE leave our cities. We have to strike at the heart of the monster; the struggle is not just against ICE and the police, nor Trump and politicians; US imperialism is the well-oiled (and oil-hungry) machine whose turning gears creates and maintains international exploitation, toppling foreign leaders and crashing economies.
